Echo you, Echo me（Mixed media, Sound instalation, Dimension variable, 2025）



この日本で生活する上で当たり前に存在し、私たちの日々の生活を支えるものの1つに電柱の存在がある。電柱は私たちの生活に必要不可欠である電気を送配電するだけでなく、インターネットなどの通信線を繋ぐインフラとして重要な役割を担っている。その巨樹のような大きな姿にも関わらず、普段人々から意識されないほど街に溶込み、ある意味では都市環境に生活する私たちにとって自然的な存在とも言える。しかしながら日本では地震などの災害時に電柱がなぎ倒され、その当たり前の姿が一変するほど人々に不自然で不穏なイメージを強く刻みつけるのである。

本作は実際の電柱と同じように会場のインフラとして機能する。作品内部を貫通した電線が他出展作家作品の電源供給としての役割を担い、他者と自身の作品の境界を共有化する。また作品それ自体が反響するスピーカーとして機能し、本展では作家が日本（自宅）から韓国（展覧会会場）に移動する際の音が鳴り響く。日本を含むアジアでは未だ原風景として私たちにとって自然的な存在を移植することで、国と国、家と家、作品と作品という個別の隔たりと共有について再考する。

One of the things that we take for granted in Japan and that underpins our daily lives is the existence of utility poles. Not only do they transmit and distribute electricity, which is essential to our daily lives, but they also play an important role in the infrastructure that connects communication lines such as the Internet. Despite their large, giant, tree-like appearance, utility poles are so integrated into cities that people are usually unaware of their presence and, in a sense, they are a natural part of our urban environment.
In Japan, however, during disasters such as earthquakes, the poles are toppled and their natural appearance is altered to such an extent that people are left with an unnatural and disturbing image of the poles.
This work functions as the infrastructure of the site in the same way as the actual electricity pylons. The electrical wires that run through the interior of the work serve as a power supply for the works of other exhibiting artists, sharing the boundary between others and one's ownwork. The work itself also functions as a reverberating loudspeaker, echoing the sounds of the artist's journey from Japan (his home) to Korea (the exhibition venue). By transplanting the presence of something we still take for granted as the original landscape to Asia, including Japan,
the exhibition reconsiders the individual separation and sharing between country and country, house and house, and artwork and artwork.
