『Study of Our Land』

自閉スペクトラム症の特性を持ち、模倣が困難な自身の子供の一人遊びを親である作家2人が無言で模倣した映像作品。 タイヤを回し続ける、流れる水に手をかざす、数字への強い執着など、それら特異で、ある種のプリミティブ性を持ったひとり遊びを親である二人が再演する。本来の機能を無効化する形で繰り返しモノに干渉し続けている中で、 同じ行為の中に個の特性やズレのようなものが生じ、他者との対立や衝突といった敵対性が暗喩的に表出する。これら 相互作用により立ち上がる境界や交差する領域の曖昧さは、この社会において個としてのアイデンティティという可視 されにくい部分を思考させる。
『いつかの君たちの自画像』

紀元前から人類は、 星を繋ぐことで星座を作り、特定の“ 見立て”を行い意味付けをしてきた。 光る星は、星間の遠さに応じて時間を含んだ光だ。太陽から発せられた光が地球に反射し、様々な星へ向かう。もしかすると私たちに反射した光でもある、この光がどこか遠い惑星にたどり着くかもしれない。本作は、我が子が鏡に映る姿に対して見つめ笑いかける出来事を目の当たりにした体験から着想している。その遥か昔から脈々と続く鏡像という自己と他者を対象化し自己を認識し始める前段階の自他が溶けあっているような感覚のありかを想像し、鏡のトンネルの中に無数の星を点在させる。

This video work depicts two parents silently imitating the solitary play of their child, who has autism spectrum disorder and has difficulty imitating. The parents re-enact these unique, somewhat primitive solitary activities, such as spinning a tire, holding their hands over flowing water, and a strong obsession with numbers. As the parents repeatedly interfere with objects, disabling their inherent functions, individual characteristics and discrepancies emerge within the same actions, metaphorically expressing hostility, such as conflict and clash with others. The ambiguity of boundaries and intersecting realms that arise from these interactions invites reflection on the often invisible aspects of individual identity in society.
『Self-Portrait of You Sometime Back』
(2025 Paraffin wax, LED light, fixture)
Since before the Common Era, humans have connected stars to create constellations and assigned specific meanings to them through specific metaphors. Shining stars are light that contains time depending on the distance between them. Light emitted from the sun is reflected off the Earth and heads towards various stars. Perhaps this light, which is also reflected back at us, will reach some distant planet. This work was inspired by the experience of witnessing a child gazing at his or her reflection in the mirror and smiling.
I imagined the feeling of self and other merging, a stage before we begin to recognize ourselves, a stage in which the mirror image, an experience that has continued since ancient times, objectifies the self and other, and scattered countless stars inside the mirror tunnel.
